This electric slow cooker has a contemporary design with sleek brushed stainless steel housing and a convenient glass lid for easy monitoring of contents during the cooking process. A programmable timer enables meals to be prepared up to 24 hours ahead of serving. There are 4 temperature settings (high, low, simmer, and keep warm), and the cooker automatically switches to the the "keep warm" setting when the cooking cycle is complete. It's easy to make classic comfort foods or try out new gourmet creations - all in a convenient-sized ceramic cooking pot that fits comfortably on any countertop; the cooking pot has an oval design for increased cooking surface area. The slow cooker comes with a recipe booklet.

I have a 6 qt crock pot but decided to try the smaller model because I am cooking for one now. I have yet to cook anything (pot roast, pork roast, chicken) that isn't totally tasteless. The unit itself is quite nice so perhaps I'm just a lousy cook. I follow all recipe directions to a T but stuff still tastes lousy.
