Saratoga Jack's thermal cooker is a highly insulated stainless steel lined thermal container unit, with a lid that seals shut and a fold up/down handle for easy portability. The inner stainless steel cooking pots, includes one large 7 liter pot with a heavy duty bottom, with the addition of a smaller pot that can be nested inside of the larger one, providing a place for a optional small side dish. Use of the smaller pot is optional. It can be removed to accommodate larger quantities of food in the larger pot, which can be used separate and independent of the smaller nesting pot. The deluxe heavy duty bottom is on the larger pot only.
A thermal cooker like an electric slow cooker cooks food at low healthy temperatures. The advantage with a thermal cooker is that you have a inner pot you use on your stove to bring your recipe to a simmer and then after simmering for a few minutes to as many as 30, you simply take the pot of the stove, place it in the insulated outer container and close the lid. From the moment you close the lid the heat of the food is held inside and used to finish the cooking of your meal. No more power, stove time or fuss is needed. Simply let it sit and it finishes cooking without burning or even over cooking your recipe.

8 of 8 people found the following review helpful  thermal cookers vs. wonder ovens, April 20, 2012 This review is from: Saratoga Jacks 7L Thermal Cooker Deluxe I have several different models of stainless steel thermal cookers and also a wonder oven, and although the wonder oven works fine, it can't touch the stainless steel thermal cookers in terms of convenience, efficiency, travelability, size, and ease. Yes, you have to pay more for the stainless steel thermal cookers, and if you can't afford one you can make a wonder oven, but it's incredibly worth the money to have a good metal thermal cooker. One of the great things about the Saratoga Jacks model is that it has a second inner pot in which you can cook cornbread or cinnamon rolls or any second dish at the same time as you're cooking your soup or stew in the main bigger pot. I've done this many times and it is so great -- not only in terms of convenience, but also in terms of fuel efficiency. If the S ever HTF -- fuel efficiency for cooking (and everything else) is going to be critical. This Saratoga Jacks is a solid and high quality thermal cooker. It holds heat so well for SO long. I got to try some of Cheff Tess' recipes prepared in this thing as well, wonderful! My favorite part about it is being able to have TWO DISHES inside!! You can put either of the two pots right on the stove to bring to temperature, and then just insert into the case. I can't wait to do even more meals in it, THANKS Saratoga Jacks! It was easy to carry even when filled. We grabbed it right before we left on vacation, watched a few minutes of Amy's video tutorial to get the idea and was amazed at how well it worked for us! I will never forget eating hot French dip sandwiches on the Historic Bay Front while we were crabbing off the pier while others were standing in long lines outside restaurants. I could of handed out Saratoga Jack business cards because everyone asked me how we were able to do that. Then we had hot dogs with chili and cheese at the beach, etc etc. We ate very well at a fraction of the cost! Thank you Jack and Amy! I am so excited to try more things at home now.WOW!!!
