Being able to sear and/or brown the meat right in it is great! We used it last weekend and it worked perfectly. Love that you can set the timer and then it goes right into "auto-warm" mode! It cooks too hot and has a steam vent in the glass lid which allows all the liquid to cook out. Also, after using it twice the inside of the non-cooking pot is already becoming scratched.
