| 22 of 22 people found the following review helpful  Beautiful Buffet Server, This review is from: G.E. 3 Crock Slow Cooker Although I did not purchase this through Amazon I felt compelled to write a reveiw about how impressed I am with the quality and functionality of G.E. 3 Crock Slow Cooker.I have been looking for some time for a buffet server. Most that I find do not have individual temperature controls and what seems to me to be flimsy plastic covers. This buffet server has the normal 3 crock pots which are molded to accomodate the included serving spoons which have a "catch" on them so that they do not slide into the dish all of the way. The lids are made of glass, which to me, means durability from continued usage and clean up versus plastic which could scratch and look unslightly over time. Also with this set for each crock pot lid is a sturdy holder for the lid that goes in place when in use to hold the lid while guests are serving... Read more 11 of 11 people found the following review helpful  brilliant idea, professional look, takes too long to heat, This review is from: G.E. 3 Crock Slow Cooker bought this item at Walmart for $33 on black Friday. the 2.5 quart pots are more than adequate capacity for entertaining small parties. Everyone loved the stainless steel & black design. Could easily pass for an item that sells for $100 or more. The best idea for this appliance is the metal lid racks that fit securely wedged between the pot and the base. Also impressive are the divets in the pot that allow the spoons to rest inside during cooking and serving. The only thing i would improve on to make this item a five star is that the heating element takes to long to reach a desired temperature. Note: preheat pot for atleast an hour and a half prior to cooking. I think the features are exceptional with the glass lids, a lid holder, and a crock that is notched to allow a spoon to be placed in it. Design wise I think it is one of the best units on the market. It took longer to heat up than a regular crock. The real down side was stainless steel front while stylish is very hot to the touch. I had someone accidently touch the front and instantly burned their fingers. The unit does have a warning stamped into the stainless steel front but it hard to read. My suggestion was to replace the stainless steel front with the material they used for the rest of the housing. |
